Youtube Beauty Gurus

Hey everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed the last few posts that I did. This one is going to be a bit different as it is about Youtube Beauty Gurus. They are really making a name for themselves in the Youtube world with some of the videos being watched more than a couple million times. The gurus I would like to comment on are Michelle Phan, Blair (Elizabeth) and Elle (Lisa) Fowler. They are phenomenally popular in the beauty community. Michelle in particular scored a deal with Lancome. All she has to do is create a tutorial every month using the Lancome products and gets paid by doing that. I have to admit that I am subscribed to her because she is a good make-up artist but nowadays I am fairly disappointed. Her tutorials consists of the same style these days. It becomes boring and now I just watch it for the sake of her making tutorials. She is earning heaps of money by doing this, probably more than what an average person makes per year! It is amazing. It even tempts me making some tutorials, but I will not.
There is only one issue I have with her. Apparently before she was that popular, she would make posts about how she was so poor and envied Blair and Elle's success. Now that she is making more than them, she flaunts her success in a way where she twitters pictures of her shopping (high-end designer goods). I do not mind her success but it contradicts what she had said before!

Next up is the Fowler sisters. I really liked Blair before she became so artificial! Some of the issues I have with them is their lies. Apparently they are not really names Blair and Elle. It is more like Elizabeth and Lisa. They say it is to protect their identity but if you are going to make videos and post it on a public website, people are going to investigate more about you inevitably. So that is no legitimate excuse to lie about their names. Michelle did not do it and see how people still like her?
Apparently according to some other forums, they constantly lie about what they do and just about everything they say. I want to try and be as objective as I can but after some more research, I have a tendency not to believe whatever they say. It also occurred to me that the only reason they do a lot of hauls from Forever 21 or so, is because they want to relate to other teens. That is smart because who can relate to people who buy Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga at the age of 16-21? The sisters are also cashing in big with sponsored videos and freebies. One sick rumor I read is that Elizabeth just had a nose job. I hope for her sake that she did not do that to break into the Hollywood scene. Yes, apparently they are also moving to L.A. Good luck with that! I am not subscribed to them but do watch their videos because they are sometimes interesting!
