Gossip Girl - The lady Vanished
March 21st 2010 00:17
Here we go, my first post. Gossip girl has been well known for its obscene, outrageous and bitchy content but lately I've been finding the plot a little dull. Yes, they are growing up but growing up doesn't mean that you can't have fun anymore. However, the fashion is still there. Thank God for that! "The Lady Vanished" began with Jenny's (Taylor Momsen) relationship with Damien (Kevin Zegers) who apparently was hiding in the closet. That part really confused me. Did it mean he snuck into the apartment and hid in Jenny's closet until she woke up? Freaky in my opnion. Their relationship would be cute but my gut is telling me he is up to no good and Jenny should watch out. And please, get rid of the raccoon eye make-up, its horrible and we don't take you seriously!
The real Gossip Girl came back when Rufus (Matthew Settle) took a swipe and said "This isn't Serena". Ouch but excellent!! I must admit, Serena (Blake Lively) has been sleeping with almost everyone on the show and really I can't even keep up anymore. But what a classic for Rufus.
Blair (Leighton Meester) seemed more of a supporting actress in this episode, following Chuck (Ed Westwick) around in search for the truth about his 'mother'. She looked pretty and did nothing but still kept her persona by doing what she usually does - flipping though fashion magazines in a great outfit. Chuck's drama with his mother is long and boring. Just tell us whether she is his mother or one of Jack's evil plans to get him back! It does not only make each episode boring but also difficult to watch.

Serenate is simply in my words a no-no. I just can't take them seriously! Everytime I look at them, I think of who they have hooked up with; almost the entire cast. They appear to have no chemistry but I must admit that they do look hot together in a scene but not together as a couple.
Dan (Penn Badgley) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) do make a cute couple but I can't stand Jessica's acting. It is horrible. She doesn't appeal to me but she is pretty. No wonder, because she used to be a model in the early days.
Gossip girl would still be a show to pay attention to but the hype is seriously gone. I can't say that I'm not waiting for the next episode to come out. They seriously need to pump it back up like season 1 to mid season 2. Until next time!
