Dexter Season 4 review
July 24th 2010 10:08
I had just typed up a really long review about season 4 and erased it all by accident. I do not have the same drive to write it up all again but I will mention the main points that I wanted to make about this season. I would have to say that this season has been excellent but season 1 remains my favourite. Keep reading unless you do not want to encounter spoilers!!
All right. Some of the events that occurred were interesting and executed brilliantly.
- Debra and Lundy's shooter. We all thought that it might have been Trinity but little did we know that there was another person who was on Trinity's side. It all came about when Debra realised that the shot to her lower body was straight and not on an angle leading to speculation that it was not Trinity because of his height. That particular scene with Vince was so funny I had to replay it numerous times. Oh Vince, he never gets old. Despite the interesting factor, I really had to look away when the camera was focused on Lundy when he was dying. It was horrible and scary at the same time! His eyes were wide open and his hair was up. It was just terrible.
- Trinity's motive for killing. Like any other cases, the motives are always the most interesting part and this one was no exception. The reason why he kills in a cycle was magnificent. The reason why he cuts his women in bath is understandable but the only problem I had with it was him 'perverting' on his older sister. I am only using the word perverting because of how it was implied. He seemed obsessed with her or something.
- Dexter's screw-ups. It was interesting to see how he would juggle his family, work and his secret life all together at once. Sometimes it was frustrating and was hoping he would just choose one and forget the other. I suppose it led to Rita's ultimate death.
- Rita's death. I have said previously that I didn't like Rita because she seems so dependent on Dexter for everything but I certainly did not expect her death!!! What was so brilliant about this is the way she died. Before Dexter killed Trinity, Trinity told Dexter that it was already over but Dexter did not understand it until he walks in on a dead Rita. That was so good that I had to give props to the writers despite writing Rita off the show. Harrison is 'born' the same way Dexter was and that particular moment was also very good. Despite its brilliance, I secretly hoped that it was all a dream.
Now, tell me what you thought of season 4 and maybe share some of your favourite moments during this season. Oh, and I loved Debra's cussing at appropriate times.

Until next time!
