Dexter - Season 1 - 3

Dexter is another obsession that can be added onto my list. It is an amazing show with incredible story lines. This show has been on air for a while now but it isn't until now that I see the addictiveness. Once again, Seth introduced me this show and ever since I have been hooked on Dexter. I would be watching it day and night (literally) until each season would end. I am now up to season 4 so I won't be reviewing on that.
I would have to say that Season 1 was my favourite and the reason is simply because of the twists it involves. It was centred around the major plot line of the ice truck killer. It was not only perfectly executed but it was also beautifully shot with various symbolisms which I totally loved. It was a sad ending though and wished it never happened!! Season 2 evolved around the bay harbour butcher and although Seth said it was the best season, I would have to disagree. We all know that Dexter won't be caught so season 2 was a bit of a disappointment for me. However, I did like the minor plot line of Sergeant Doakes and his end of journey. Again, I love the twists at the end of each season. They never seem to disappoint me. Season 3 was satisfactory but there was no real major plot line except for the Prado-Morgan and skinner case. I liked the whole interaction with Dexter and his 'friend' Miguel Prado as it showed that Dexter is human after all as he longed for a real friend. I could have done without the skinner case.
Now I will be slowly watching the fourth season as the next season won't air until September! Seth told me that this season is awesome again so I will be looking forward to that. However, it has been disappointing me from the start. Rita is so annoying sometimes. It is as if she can't be independent and has to always ring Dexter for help. She does not have a job so why is Dexter taking care of the baby all the time!!! Maybe I am being prejudice but come on, she is so needy. Also it was revealed in season 3 that Rita was born in 1989. That is a little young, no?
Tell me what you think of Dexter so far?
Until next time!
