Bangkok Dangerous!

Nicolas Cage has remade a 1999 Asian film Bangkok Dangerous. This film was one of the most amazing films and was such a statement on the underworld and how decadent and dangerous it was in Thailand at the time. The juxtaposition of the deaf-mute assassin and the innocence of his first time falling in love was both startling and beautiful.
Admittedly I have yet to see Nicolas Cage's remake but you can bet I will be checking it out. I loved the first one but I just cannot see how Nick Cage can carry off the tender yet deadly young man as expertly as Pawalit Mongkolpisit who played the deaf hitman in the original. His being deaf and mute was important to the character; it made him impervious to any distractions while on stake out and taking aim to kill.
It will be interesting to see how Nick Cage pulls this one off. I can say the original was nearly perfect so Mr. Cage will have to be on his game if he doesn't want a colossial flop on his hands. Good Luck Nick, you're gonna need it! In the Meantime check out the original, I highly recommend it but be warned it is a violent film.
